End of AFCON dream for Niger midfielder Moutari
Niger teenage midfielder Amadou Moutari will play a no part in the remaining matches of the 2012Africa Cup of Nations
The 18-year old sustained an during the Group C opener against co-hosts Gabon last Monday in Libreville few moments after coming on in the second half.
His stay was cut short following a challenge from Gabon defender Manga Ecuele early in the seond.
The midfielder has suffered a fracture of the fibula and is due to undergo surgery in France.
The extent of injury has even compelled CAF President Issa Hayatou to wish the midfielder a speedy recovery in a statement.
“On behalf of CAF, I wish him a speedy recovery. I hope he will recover soon to play for his national team and club as well,” said Hayatou.
