Bell appreciated Copa Barry
Interviewed on the performances of goalkeepers during the 2012 African Cup of Nations, the former Indomitable Lions goalkeeper Joseph-Antoine Bell, admits he appreciated Copa Barry.
Interviewed on the performances of goalkeepers during the 2012 African Cup of Nations, the former Indomitable Lions goalkeeper Joseph-Antoine Bell, admits he appreciated Boubacar Copa Barry, the goalkeeper of Cote d'Ivoire: "He understood one had to stay attentive, the Cameroonian emphasized in the columns of Fifa.com, his rigour saved Cote d'Ivoire several times. Slowly, he managed to communicate his mind to the rest of the team. It is a very important quality for a goalkeeper. “But in general, J.A. Bell was not satisfied as regarding this position that is both special and important: "Personally, I found that most of the performances were average. I do not remember seeing exceptional gestures but I found the goalkeepers serious".
As reminder, Joseph-Antoine Bell was the goalkeeper of Marseille and Bordeaux in the 80’s and participated in the 1982, 1990 and 1994 World Cup with the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon.
