2012 Afcon/Niger: Hayatou wishes Moutari speedy recovery
Confederations of African Football (Caf) president Issa Hayatou on behalf of the African football family has empathised with the Niger Football Federation concerning the injury suffered by midfielder Amadou Moutari during their Group C Africa Cup of Nations match against Gabon on Monday in Libreville.
“On behalf of Caf, I wish him a speedy recovery, to come back for his national team and club as well,” Hayatou said in a statement.
Gabon striker Stephane Nguema and Bruno Manga Ecuele already visited the midfielder at his team’s hotel to express their sympathies. The 18-year-old has been ruled out of the tournament due to the injury, and he is scheduled to travel to France, where he will undergo surgery on his leg.
