Algeria : Backup is on its way

There should be at least a thousand Desert Foxes fans in Benguela on Thursday (8.30pm) for the Orange Cup of nations semifinal between Algeria-Egypt. On Wednesday morning, state officials confirmed that the state of Algeria was planning a mass trip to Angola for Desert Foxes fans. The ticket will cost 60.000 DA, approximately 500 euros, compared to the usual price of 135.000 DA (1200 euros). This will include a plane ticket from Alger to Benguela, the town where the match will be held, as well as transport from the airport to the stadium and a ticket for the match.

To make the trip as smooth as possible, the visa process for Angola has been made easier and fans will get their yellow-fever jab at the airport. The first plane will take off at 6 am and many more will follow, carrying a total of 1.000 fans. The figure is well below the 12.000 fans that had attended the match in Khartoum last November. The organizing committee had to revise their estimates downwards because of the price of the ticket and practical difficulties.
